EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

REGISTRATION AND ADMISSION


ADMISSION TO THE GRADUATE SCHOOL

Admission presupposes that a student’s application has satisfactory met all the entrance requirements of SDSC.
Enrollment in the institutions is a contractual relationship between the students and the school. A student is admitted with a definite understanding that he agrees to comply with the scholastic and the school standards of SDSC-GSIPD and its policies and rules governing student behavior. The administration is empowered to deal with violations in accordance with its system of discipline and guidance.

Admission to SDSC-GSIPD is made with no discrimination on the grounds of religious belief, race, sex, age or physical disability.

A. ADMISSION POLICIES (for Filipino Students)


        1. Students seeking admission to any degree in the Graduate School must fill out an application
            form and submit the following:
                 1.1. Original Transcript of Records; and
                 1.2. If the program completed (Ph.D.) is non-thesis, the applicant must take up courses in
                 research or submit evidence of his/her research output.
        2. Students who graduated from schools outside the Philippines must present their credentials
            (Original Transcript of Records) to the Dean for proper evaluation.
        3. Candidates whose Bachelor's Degree do not correspond to the chosen Master's Degree
            Program must finish at least 12 units of major undergraduate courses in the field of specialization
            subject to the approval of the Dean before proceeding to graduate work.
        4. Transfer from one study program to another is discouraged, however if transfer is desired, a
            student must formally write to the Dean for re-evaluation of his/her records. The student applying
             for transfer in another program need to undergo the usual admission process entry into the
             program; thus subject to an application fee.
        5. A maximum of 12 units may be credited for transfer students at the discretion of the Dean.
        6. Public school teachers or government employees enrolling for the first time in Graduate Studies
             should submit a permit to study.
        7. Transferees who have earned units for the past five (5) years will not be credited in the graduate
             program.


B. ADMISSION PROCEDURES


1. Obtain an evaluation form from the Registrar and Admission Office.
2. Fill out and submit form and exam permit together with all the requirements to the Registrar and
    Admission Office. INCOMPLETE FORMS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.
3. Schedule for Testing and Interview from the Registrar and Admission Office.
4. Get Enrollment Permit from the Graduate School and Institute of Professional Development Office.


C. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS


Doctoral Program
        To qualify for the Ph.D./Doctoral Program of SDSC-GSIPD an applicant must have:
                1. A Master’s degree in any field from a recognized college/university.
                2. An official transcript of records (Masteral degree) from a recognized Graduate School
                    (with CHED Special Order Number).
                3. A general masteral average of 89% (1.75).
                4. Meaningful employment and work experience of at least two (2) years.
                5. Satisfactory score in the entrance examination.
                6. A fully accomplished application.
                7. Interview as maybe required by the Admission Committee.


Masteral Program
        To qualify for the Masteral Program of SDSC-GSIPD an applicant must have:
                1. A bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized college/university.
                2. An official transcript of records from the college/university (with CHED Special Order
                   Number).
                3. A general undergraduate average of 86% (2.0).
                4. Meaningful employment and work experience of at least one (1) year.
                5. Satisfactory score in the entrance examination.
                6. A fully accomplished application.
                7. Interview as maybe required by the Admission Committee.


D. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS (For Foreign Students)


For Foreign Students to qualify for admission in any of the Graduate Programs of SDSC-GSIPD, in addition to the above mentioned requirements, a foreign applicant must have:
        1. Transcript of records or documents showing academic accomplishments from the country of
            origin (translated in English if not in English) and authenticated by the Philippine Embassy in
            the country of origin.
        2. Certificate of degree of equivalency from the Ministry of Education of the country of origin
            when necessary and applicable.
        3. Working English proficiency, both oral and written and where insufficient, be currently enrolled
            in an English proficiency course in the Philippines.
        4. Four (4) 2x2 ID Pictures.
        5. Copy of Passport.
        6. Approved Student Visa.
        7. Affidavit of support and financial capacity.
        8. Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR).
        9. Certificate of Employment if employed.
        10. Police Clearance from the country of origin.
